Mevagissey is a small working fishing village with quaint narrow streets leading from the harbour to the various shops, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and traditional inns with tales of smugglers.
Small boats can be hired to explore the bay by sea or you can simply stroll around the pretty streets or sit on the harbour watching the busy fishermen bring in their catch at the end of the day. The local catch can be tasted in the many restaurants, old taverns and traditional fish and chips.
Attractions, towns and beaches close by include: Polstreath beach, Pentewan beach, Gorran Haven a small fishing village with a beach, take a ferry to St Austell and Fowey, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
