Rock & Polzeath

Rock and Polzeath are two beautiful North Cornwall villages brimming with local character and charm. Both sat just opposite the famous harbour of Padstow, the name Rock is derived from the large quarrying industry that the town built its foundations upon. Whatever the season, Rock offers guests a truly magical experience, with beautiful walks around the Camel estuary taking in the views of its tranquil waters. Rock plays host to one of Cornwall’s Michelin starred restaurants as well as a variety of pleasant cafes and pubs. In addition to beaching and watersports, there is also a golf course and a number of other attractions only a short drive away.

Polzeath is a little further up the coast and a perfect haven for surfers with excellent surf and a fine selection of beaches. With the intriguing St Enodoc Church, the final resting place of poet laureate Sir John Betjeman, and a host of activities are just a short drive away, including the beautiful Camel Trail, Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium, making it an ideal base for a young family to explore Cornwall.
