What you need to know about Access Statements
An access statement is a written statement that tells your visitors what services and facilities you provide allowing them to assess whether it suits their accessibility needs. It is a minimum requirement for your Visit Britain rating.
It needs to cover the full customer experience from the initial booking through to the internal and external areas of your property and must be clear and honest
Owners can generally prepare a short form or long form version of the statement, though for those wishing to attract disabled guests the long form version should be considered. Example statements are included below, as well as an outline of the sort of information that should be included.
You do not have to state whether you believe your property is suitable or not – just state the facts allowing your visitors to assess your property for themselves.
Once produced we will put your statement on our website and it should also be included in your welcome pack.
