Situated about 20 minutes from the picturesque Victorian seaside resort of Bude, Holsworthy is an historic market town with hundreds of years of history.
Most of the towns’ activity centers around the town square where you will find pannier markets, cattle markets, antique and craft fairs and a selection of national and local shops. There are is a good selection of restaurants and café’s many of which feature delicious local produce. There are also a number of traditional pubs and inns where you can relax after a day out exploring.Situated in-land the area boasts a close proximity to the wonderful ‘Ruby Country’ where visitors will find an area of undiscovered peace and tranquility. It is rural Britain at its best and contains some of the country’s most beautiful scenery. Eight circular walks, ranging from one to seven miles, have been opened across the area. There are also family-friendly cycle paths and horse-riding tracks, all allowing you to take in this beautiful area at your own pace.
The dramatic north Cornwall coast, famous for its sandy surfing beaches is just 9 miles away, with easy access to the South West Coast Path.
In the other direction, towards Devon, Okehampton, Dartmoor National Park and the A30 dual carriageway are around 20 miles away. The port and market town of Bideford is also about a 20 mile drive away through beautiful unspoilt scenery.
