Kingsbridge
Kingsbridge sits at the head of the estuary close to the South Devon coastline in beautiful surroundings.
The town is rich in heritage and history which can be explored in The Kingsbridge Cookworthy Museum and local Heritage Centre. Located in the old Grammar school, founded in 1670, the collection includes many photographs of Kingsbridge, local records and editions of the Kingsbridge Gazette from the 19th Century onwards.

Today Kingsbridge is a thriving market town with popular outdoor markets and a farmer’s market on the first Saturday in the month. The centre of Kingsbridge has a wide range of shops including a strong collection of speciality shops along the main street and in side streets and arcades. Much of the activity is focussed around the quay where visitors can take the ferry from Kingsbridge to Salcombe, tide permitting.

South Hams, the area of Devon in which Kingsbridge lies, is an area of outstanding natural beauty where rolling hills lead down to picturesque beaches. The A379 from Kingsbridge to Dartmouth is a great route to appreciate the area from the countryside to the coast.
For those who enjoy the city life, Plymouth is less than 15 miles away from Kingsbridge, complete with major attractions including The National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth Gin and Plymouth Hoe.
Nestled in the countryside around Kingsbridge, visitors will find many more places to discover including vineyards, organic farms and a number of National Trust sites.
