Kingsand and Cawsand used to mark the border between Devon and Cornwall, and there is still a house called Dev Corn in the village. Renowned for their smuggling past, Kingsand and Cawsand also played host to more upstanding visitors, such as Nelson.

A haven from the modern world, Kingsand and Cawsand are perfectly located for exploring Devon and Cornwall but there is so much to do close by. Cawsand is a lovely sandy beach, Kingsand a mixture of shingle and sand. Whitsand Bay, close to Kingsand and Cawsand, is a lovely 4 mile sandy bay. Around the Coast path from Kingsand and Cawsand is Mount Edgcumbe Park, one of the finest in England. Antony House and Cotehele, two fine National Trust properties, are close by.

For a bit of city life and history during the summer months a ferry runs from Kingsand and Cawsand to Plymouth, so you can explore the Barbican and the shops.

Close to the Rame Peninsula are Plymouth, Looe and Polperro.
