Rock House is an imposing Victorian building where Rudyard Kipling lived in the 19th century. It comprises the house, three flats in a separate wing, and Kipling Cottage. Standing in 10 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds with sweeping views down to the sea, it is situated a short way down Rock House Lane which leads down steps to Maidencombe Beach.
Nearby is the Orestone Manor Hotel, which is reputed to have one of the best restaurants in Devon. The restaurant’s English a la carte menu uses the hotel’s home grown herbs and vegetables and fresh local seafood.
Please note: The grounds are not for guests' use.
