There are six historic towns that collectively form The South Hams each with their own individual charm and unique characteristics; Dartmouth, Salcombe, Ivybridge, Totnes, Kingsbridge and Modbury. Meander along the pretty narrow streets and historic harbours and you will find a welcoming selection of gift shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and bars.
Head towards the coast and you will be greeted with an amazing selection of golden beaches and hidden coves. For the adventurous among us, water sports are available at many of the larger beaches while the smaller coves offer a peaceful retreat and are perfect for relaxing with a good book and a picnic.

A beautifully finished and well appointed contemporary reverse level mews house located just minutes from the golden sands of Bigbury-on-Sea, Bantham and Burgh Island. The apartment has recently been awarded the prestigious ‘four star gold’ award by Visit Britain.
Bigbury-on-Sea lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has stunning views across the award winning beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Challaborough. It offers an ideal location for a variety of watersports, great coastal walks, and has a beautiful cliff top 18 hole Golf Course, with outstanding views of the moors and sea in all directions. Just a few minutes away from the property there is a surf school - perfect for the young and young at heart!Close by, there is a Post Office and Stores where your holiday shopping can be ordered and delivered for your convenience. There are several eateries including the award winning Venus Café located next to the beach, which offers local organic produce. The Pilchard Inn, located on Burgh Island, offers good basic food and a selection of fine ales.
Burgh Island is linked to Bigbury-on-Sea by a short sandy causeway which covered at high tide, can only be crossed using the unique sea tractor. At low tide, the historic Burgh Island is just a short walk away from Sandbanks, where famous guests of the beautiful Art Deco hotel include Agatha Christie, The Beatles, Noel Coward and Edward and Mrs Simpson.
