There are six historic towns that collectively form The South Hams each with their own individual charm and unique characteristics; Dartmouth, Salcombe, Ivybridge, Totnes, Kingsbridge and Modbury. Meander along the pretty narrow streets and historic harbours and you will find a welcoming selection of gift shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and bars.

Head towards the coast and you will be greeted with an amazing selection of golden beaches and hidden coves. For the adventurous among us, water sports are available at many of the larger beaches while the smaller coves offer a peaceful retreat and are perfect for relaxing with a good book and a picnic.

Full Property Description

A beautifully finished and well appointed contemporary reverse level mews house located just minutes from the golden sands of Bigbury-on-Sea, Bantham and Burgh Island. The apartment has recently been awarded the prestigious ‘four star gold’ award by Visit Britain.

Bigbury-on-Sea lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has stunning views across the award winning beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Challaborough.  It offers an ideal location for a variety of watersports, great coastal walks, and has a beautiful cliff top 18 hole Golf Course, with outstanding views of the moors and sea in all directions. Just a few minutes away from the property there is a surf school - perfect for the young and young at heart!

Close by, there is a Post Office and Stores where your holiday shopping can be ordered and delivered for your convenience.  There are several eateries including the award winning Venus Café located next to the beach, which offers local organic produce.  The Pilchard Inn, located on Burgh Island, offers good basic food and a selection of fine ales.

Burgh Island is linked to Bigbury-on-Sea by a short sandy causeway which covered at high tide, can only be crossed using the unique sea tractor.  At low tide, the historic Burgh Island is just a short walk away from Sandbanks, where famous guests of the beautiful Art Deco hotel include Agatha Christie, The Beatles, Noel Coward and Edward and Mrs Simpson.

  • A fully fitted contemporary design kitchen in cream with electric oven and grill, halogen 4 ring hob, integral fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
  • Full utensils and accessories including microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, bread bin, scales, knife block, iron and ironing board.

  • Located within the living area.
  • Oak dining table with four padded chocolate leather high back chairs.

Sleeping

Master bedroom with en-suite

  • Located on the ground floor, it has double doors leading to a balcony with table and chairs and views down to the sea.
  • Furnished with a double bed, 2x bedside cabinets both with lamps, a double wardrobe with drawer, a large 5 drawer chest and mirror.
  • White and cream en-suite comprising an electric shower in cubicle, wash basin, w.c., mirror, shaver point and freestanding towel rail.

Bedroom two

  • Located on the ground floor overlooking the decked area it catches the morning sun.
  • Furnished with a two single beds, a bedside cabinet with lamp, a 6 drawer unit and lamp, a 5 drawer chest, and double wardrobe.

Bathroom

  • Located on the ground floor.
  • White and cream bathroom suite comprising an electric shower cubicle with screen, wash basin, w.c., mirror, shaver point and heated towel rail.
  • Shelving is built-in above the sink.

Outside

  • Decked area to the front of the property with table and four chairs.
  • Balcony off the master bedroom with a table and chairs and views to the sea.
  • Located just a few minutes walk from the beach at Bigbury and Burgh Island.
  • Allocated parking for one car.
