Paignton has a wide range of great activities fo children of all ages, from penny arcades on the pier to the zoo – recently ranked as one of the Daily Telegraph’s top 50 days out. The beaches at Preston, Paignton centre and Goodrington offer good sandcastle building conditions while the more adventurous can discover hidden beaches along this stretch of coast.
The centre has level access to the seafront or explore the harbour to find restaurants and the chance to try some watersports. Above the harbour lies Roundham Point where gardens provide a panoramic view of The English Riviera with Torquay to the left and Brixham to the right.

The house is perfect for a family holiday with safe bathing close by at Preston and Paignton, beachside cafes and local shops just a 5 minute walk away.
Paignton town centre is a 10 minute walk away and is one of the most popular destinations for families within the English Riviera. There is a host of attractions including the Paignton, Dartmouth steam train, pleasure cruises from Dartmouth, Quaywest water park, restaurants, cafes, bars, pier and beautiful golden sands that will keep the whole family fulfilled!
Oldway Mansion is just a few minutes walk away and is an elegant Grade II listed building previously owned by the founder of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, Isaac Merritt Singer.
It is set in 17 acres of beautiful gardens, which are laid out on an Italian theme by the French landscape gardener Achille Duchesne. A walk around the garden allows you to enjoy the maze, which consists of dwarf box hedging and flower beds, the grotto garden where a waterfall passes over a rocky cave into a pool below, tennis courts and a bowling green.
The interior of the building is stunning with its grand staircase made from marble and balusters of bronze and high ceiling decorated with an ornate painting based on an original design for the Palace of Versailles by the French painter and architect Joseph Lebrun.
The mansion and its grounds can be visited free of charge all year round, and it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Torbay and for anyone interested in the history, there is a small museum with exhibits linked to the building's history, including antique Singer sewing machines.From 01/01/11 this property will have a Saturday – Saturday changeover and won't accept short breaks.
