- Traditional fishing port
- Pretty cottages and narrow steets
- Close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project
Mevagissey is an unspoilt fishing port on the south coast of Cornwall, characterised by narrow winding streets - great for exploring with shops, tea rooms and much more to discover. The focal point of Mevagissey is the harbour which consists of the 18th Century east and west quays which are flanked by hills on both sides - creating many opportunities for those holiday snaps!
Close to both the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, Mevagissey is well placed for exploring the whole of the south coast and is a good spot for cyclists and walkers to base themselves. During May to September a ferry operates across St Austell Bay allowing an easy day trip to lovely Fowey, with the chance to maybe spot some dolphins on the way!

Customer Reviews
"Sea Barn is a fantastic holiday home with stunning scenery - every need is catered for and the little touches have left a big impression! Loved Mevagissey and Charlestown also Fowey. A lovely place to eat is The Polgooth Inn at Polgooth. Great food and good atmosphere in a lovely setting. South Cornwall definitely beats the North on its stunning scenery and lovely harbours - will definitely be recommending Sea Barn - its just a shame you cant order the good weather!" The Court Family, August 2008."Thank you so much for letting us stay in your fantastic Sea Barn. The views are amazing and the house is lovely. We went down to Pentewan via the coastal path and had a cream tea which was really tasty. The whole house was clean and friendly and has been a pleasure to live in for the week. Throughout our week we have relaxed in the house and grounds as well as going to Lands End., Fowey, Polgooth, Mevagissey and The Eden Project. The week has been well deserved by all the family and this has been the perfect place to relax and chill-out. We have enjoyed our week so much that we are considering coming back at Christmas. Thank you." The Zelly Family, July 2008."We had a lovely break here at Sea Barn, the location was beautiful and the little extras made it very welcoming and homely. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are well worth a visit. Had nice meals at both the Pier House, Charlestown and The Polgooth Inn. Thanks for a fantastic week." The Harris Family, May 2008."Everything at Sea Barn couldn't be more perfect. Lots of comfort, welcoming, beautiful location and nice and quiet! Lovely views and sea air on coastal path at end of field. Would definitely like to come again!â?? The Jellis Family, May 2008."We have had a fab holiday here in the Sea Barn. We particularly enjoyed the coastal path down to the cove where the kids had a paddle in the sea. Also The Eden Project is worth a visit. We hope to return some day!"
