"Sea Barn is a fantastic holiday home with stunning scenery - every need is catered for and the little touches have left a big impression! Loved Mevagissey and Charlestown also Fowey. A lovely place to eat is The Polgooth Inn at Polgooth. Great food and good atmosphere in a lovely setting. South Cornwall definitely beats the North on its stunning scenery and lovely harbours - will definitely be recommending Sea Barn - its just a shame you cant order the good weather!" The Court Family, August 2008.
"Thank you so much for letting us stay in your fantastic Sea Barn. The views are amazing and the house is lovely. We went down to Pentewan via the coastal path and had a cream tea which was really tasty. The whole house was clean and friendly and has been a pleasure to live in for the week. Throughout our week we have relaxed in the house and grounds as well as going to Lands End., Fowey, Polgooth, Mevagissey and The Eden Project. The week has been well deserved by all the family and this has been the perfect place to relax and chill-out. We have enjoyed our week so much that we are considering coming back at Christmas. Thank you." The Zelly Family, July 2008.
"We had a lovely break here at Sea Barn, the location was beautiful and the little extras made it very welcoming and homely. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are well worth a visit. Had nice meals at both the Pier House, Charlestown and The Polgooth Inn. Thanks for a fantastic week." The Harris Family, May 2008.
"Everything at Sea Barn couldn't be more perfect. Lots of comfort, welcoming, beautiful location and nice and quiet! Lovely views and sea air on coastal path at end of field. Would definitely like to come again!â?? The Jellis Family, May 2008.
"We have had a fab holiday here in the Sea Barn. We particularly enjoyed the coastal path down to the cove where the kids had a paddle in the sea. Also The Eden Project is worth a visit. We hope to return some day!" The Ward Family, April 2008.

Map & Local Area

Mevagissey is very much a traditional 14th century Cornish fishing village, located on the South Cornwall Coast.  Once the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishing industry, in more recent times Mevagissey has become an ideal spot for visitors with a selection of top quality pubs, restaurants and shops. To this day it boasts a working harbour, with a few dozen small fishing boats and its tradition of boat building dates back to 1745.

This unspoilt little town still retains its traditional character; the streets are an enticing labyrinth of whitewashed buildings and narrow passageways to explore.  Lying at the end of the Harbour’s North quay, the Mevagissey Museum provides an interesting visit, detailing Mevagissey’s rich association with the sea from ship wrecks to smuggling.   The World of Model Railways situated on Meadow Street is a popular Cornwall attraction, with one of the best model shops in the South-West of England. The exhibitions include a Layout which has over 30 trains travelling through varied landscapes from a British seaside to an Alpine Winter and 'Junior Junction' children’s' railway features Hornby Thomas the Tank engine characters and a model circus. Further details of activities in the area are available from the Tourist Information Centre in St George’s Square.

Mevagissey is an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful county or Cornwall and is close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy trips taken from the harbour including deep sea angling, mackerel and shark fishing and there is also a ferry to the nearby port of Fowey. If you prefer to stay on dry land there is excellent walking on the cliff tops above the town, where the views of town and sea are superb!
