Bedrooms:4 Sleeps:8 Parking: Pets:Read All Comments"The house is absolutely stunning - wonderfully light and airy - with large bedrooms and high ceilings - perfect for large groups / families with good entertaining space and cosy corners to hide away with a book."“The house itself just oozzzes relaxation, whether cooking intimate dinners by a log fire or having a BBQ in the garden.”"A wonderful house in a fabulous location and we can't wait to go back!” April 2010.“The Blue Monkey is gorgeous - it surpasses all expectations of a 'holiday home'. I have to say that we have fallen in love with it too. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone & we will definitely return.” April 2010.“If you want to explore Cornwall and stay in a village that hasn't been spoilt by tourists or harsh developments, then Cawsand is the place to go." March 2010.“Staying at the Blue Monkey was a delight from start to finish.” March 2010.“This is a place I can imagine returning to again and again as the children grow older - where they really can be children; running bare foot past the house with a sense of pure freedom, wielding crab nets and shrieking with laughter is something that all children should experience and Blue Monkey is the place to do it." January 2010."Absolutely, I would recommend this accommodation to my best friend!" We stayed in the stunning 'Blue Monkey' cottage in Cawsand over New Year, and would recommend the property to anyone. The biggest draw is its location - right in the heart of the village, yet go into the cute courtyard garden and it's completely peaceful! The quiet town beach & sea front is literally a 1 min walk across the street which was fantastic; your morning coffee won't even cool as you take it along with you to sit on the sea wall & read the papers! It had a nice atmosphere too; it very quickly felt like 'home', aside from the 'boutique hotel'-style en-suite of the master bedroom was definitely a step above our bathroom at home! ;-) It was clear that the owners have put a great deal of thought into various personal touches around the house - for example the bed linen is of a high quality as is the crockery. There's also a shower on the ground floor by the utility room - perfect for washing off sandy feet or wetsuits! Would highly recommend - we have already booked up for later this year." Wimshursts Sept 09"We've had a lovely stay at the Blue Monkey really relaxing and enjoyable. The weather has been kind to us to! We would recommend a visit to Fowey (beautiful harbour/shops and teas!) Also Padstow was fabulous especially Rick Steins fish and chips. Really enjoyed some breath taking costal walks and cycled around Penteran valley down to Mevagisssey (lovely, very busy fishing port). Will miss the delicious cream teas and food. Going home to plan our return!" The Smits, West Sussex August 09"We want to live there....We first fell in love with the area, then Kingsand and Cawsand and now Blue Monkey. The villages are pure Cornish, steeped in history and with local people that are simply wonderful. Add four great pubs each of which prides itself on its beer and cooking, a beautiful outlook on to Cawsand Bay and you just about have the lot. Blue Monkey is divine and the owners have decorated and equipped it to colour supplement levels of style and comfort. Superb! We are back there next year". August 2009."Kingsand- Cawsand was recommended by some friends and we'll certainly pass on that recommendation along with the Blue Monkey." The Woodhouses, Aberdeen, July 09"As Kingsanders for a few years now, this house ticks all the boxes!! Fabulous family accommodation and not too many footsteps from the beach. At the end of the day when the children are picnicked out. We never venture far when the sun shine, why would you. Just one request don't tell too many people about the forgotten corner." The Jamersons August 2009"What a beautiful location. We had a fantastic relaxing holiday Blue Monkey was excellent and well equipped. Hope to return one day." Burntwood, Staffs, August 09."What an amazing place! We had a fantastic holiday with beautiful weather. Thank you very much." Lots of love the Williams & the Liddys. June 09loved the house, would come again." Mrs O A Lane, May 2009"What a house! What a place! What an amazing holiday we have had! The house is beautiful and so comfortable. We have already planned our return. Kingsand and Cawsand are real hidden treasures and long may they stay that way. The people are so friendly and the walks and views are stunning. Enjoy your stay but dont tell too many people about it!" The Godwins 2009."The Blue Monkey has proved to be a home-from-home and a great base to visit Cornwall. Found it spacious and loved the decor. Shall hopefully return in a a few years." The Franklins from Perth, June 2009."40 years or so we have walked along the sea front road and past the Blue Monkey. Of course all those years we wanted to live there and now we can afford it we no longer wish to be anywhere else than where we are - but that is life. But if we did decide to live at the seaside I cannot imagine any nicer village than Kingsand & Cawsand or indeed any nicer house than The Blue Monkey for it is absolutely delightful in the village and in the house. It is extremely comfortable and provides everything that you could wish for. It is solid and warm when you need it, and cool when you wish to get out of the sun. Three pubs within no more than five minutes walk and a lovely 'everything' shop with lovely marmalade. It was a joy to stay there and to be inside looking out at the passers-by who were gazing in at our log fire: it was nice not to be the 'passers-by' after all these years."- 4 double bedrooms, recently refurbished house situated in the heart of the village, 30 metres from the beach with courtyard garden.

The history behind Blue MonkeyBlue Monkey takes its name from 2 interesting historic periods:
Firstly, it used to be the village pub known as "The Blue Anchor" and one of its regular visitors when in dock was Nelson. He regularly frequented this watering hole and could be seen from the road dancing the night away, up in the first floor front room.
Secondly, it takes is name Monkey from the time when it was the cannon ball store supplying the fort. And the “Monkey” is the name given to the triangular formation the cannon balls were stacked in hence the name “Blue Monkey”.
