Glebe House Cottages form a beautiful collection of early 19th Century listed buildings in an idyllic and unspoiled countryside setting. With Bude’s award winning beaches and the sweeping North Cornwall coast within 10 minutes, plus the Ruby Country’s walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing on the doorstep, Glebe House is the perfect location for couples and families alike.

The property is child friendly with few ornaments to knock over, a stair gate and a limited babysitting service is available during the summer months.

The cottages are set in 5 acres of formal gardens and established woodland where children can explore and adults can find their own quiet spot. On site there is also a children’s play area, a laundry room, a games room, evening bar (by arrangement) and beach toys available for guests.

Warm fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolat are available to order as breakfast baskets each morning, and a range of freshly cooked meals and matching wines are on offer - so you can enjoy your days knowing that the evening’s catering for the family will be both easy and a treat!

Downstairs, Poacher has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area and a single bedroom. Upstairs is a master bedroom with a four poster bed and a twin room.

Living

  • The living area has two comfortable sofas - a corner unit and a traditional two seater - plus a coffee table.
  • The beamed ceiling adds to the charm of this room, with features such as wall lights, fireplace and pictures adding a welcoming touch.
  • Entertainment is provided by a T.V. with Freeview, DVD player and a DAB hi-fi system (including an mp3 player input).
  • Selection of books available for guests.

Kitchen

Kitchen

  • The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials, including a free-standing cooker, fridge with ice-making compartment and plenty of work surface.
  • There is a microwave, kettle, toaster and a coffee maker.
  • Utensils and crockery are also provided along with a selection of pans.  

Dining

  • A pine dining table and four chairs are provided, with an additional chair being available for meal times.

Sleeping

Master Bedroom

  • Has a four poster bed, two chests of drawers and a built-in wardrobe.
  • Individual lamps are provided on either side of the bed, and the warmth of the room is enhanced by pictures and floral drapes.

Bedroom Two

  • Has two single beds and ample storage space.
  • There is a central four-drawer chest between the beds with two lamps.
  • A curtained shelf with a mirror and lamp above provide further storage space and a built-in wardrobe provides hanging space.

Bedroom Three

  • Single bedroom, with a bedside lamp, chest of drawers and a mirror.

Bathroom

  • Central to the bathroom is a fabulous Jacuzzi bath, with a shower over. Additionally, there is a washbasin and w.c., mirror and shaver socket/light.

Outside

  • Located just a few miles from the beach. 
  • Heated outdoor swimming pool (4'8" deep and is available from Easter to the end of September).

Holsworthy

Situated about 20 minutes from the picturesque Victorian seaside resort of Bude, Holsworthy is an historic market town with hundreds of years of history.

Most of the towns’ activity centers around the town square where you will find pannier markets, cattle markets, antique and craft fairs and a selection of national and local shops. There are is a good selection of restaurants and café’s many of which feature delicious local produce. There are also a number of traditional pubs and inns where you can relax after a day out exploring.

Situated in-land the area boasts a close proximity to the wonderful ‘Ruby Country’ where visitors will find an area of undiscovered peace and tranquility. It is rural Britain at its best and contains some of the country’s most beautiful scenery. Eight circular walks, ranging from one to seven miles, have been opened across the area. There are also family-friendly cycle paths and horse-riding tracks, all allowing you to take in this beautiful area at your own pace.

The dramatic north Cornwall coast, famous for its sandy surfing beaches is just 9 miles away, with easy access to the South West Coast Path.

In the other direction, towards Devon, Okehampton, Dartmoor National Park and the A30 dual carriageway are around 20 miles away. The port and market town of Bideford is also about a 20 mile drive away through beautiful unspoilt scenery.

Booking notes

  • A deposit of 1/3 of the total price is required to secure a property. The balance is due six weeks before arrival.
  • For bookings arriving within 6 weeks, payment must be made in full by debit or credit card.
  • Only weekly (or multiples of) bookings are accepted in July and August. The changeover date is Saturday unless otherwise stated.
  • Short breaks (min. 3 nights) are accepted at other times of the year unless otherwise stated.
  • A non-refundable £19.50 booking fee is applicable to all bookings.
  • All properties are non-smoking.
  • Pets are accepted in certain properties where stated.
  • Bookings made by credit card will be charged a handling fee.
  • There is no booking charge for debit cards.
