- Dramatic towering coastline
- Great walking and riding
- Unique towns and villages
Exmoor straddles the Devon and Somerset border along the Atlantic coast and contains one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the country. The South West Coast Path provides a challenging hike along the hogback cliffs, but the views across the water to the Welsh coast more than compensate for any burning thighs. The coast is not the only walking on offer. The moor itself is largely uninhabited and is riddled with footpaths and bridleways allowing visitors to explore the unique landscape.
Most visitors stay in one of the many towns and villages around the edge of the moor and can choose between small coastal resorts, such as Lynton and Lynmouth, enjoying precarious locations nestled along the cliffs, or quaint inland villages like Winsford, Dulverton or Exford.

An attractive local village
Chulmleigh is a Saxon hilltop village made up of thatched cottages, traditional pubs and a small collection of shops including a butchers, bakers, deli Spar, a farm shop and newsagents. There is a kids play park and dining options consist of three pubs in the town, a cosmopolitan restaurant and an Indian takeaway, while the mobile fish and chip van on a Thursday is highly recommended. Parking in the town is free if you do not feel up to the 1 mile walk up into the village.
A peaceful and beautiful part of Devon

The area provides access to an abundance of leisure activities including walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horse riding along with a number of historic houses and gardens in the vicinity. Guests can enjoy the best of coast and country with Dartmoor and Exmoor nearby, as well as the North Devon coast in one direction and the cathedral city of Exeter in the other, all within an hour’s drive. The cottage has detailed area information for guests ensuring they make the most of their holiday.

Fishing at Park Mill Farm
"This is an accommodating little river in a lovely Devon valley where time really does seem to stand still."
Mike Weaver, Trout And Salmon magazine, Feb. 2009.There are two rivers (The Little Dart and The Huntacott) running through the property and a private fishing lake where guests can enjoy free fly and coarse fishing and catch Brown Trout, Rudd, Chubb, Roach and Carp. There is a small charge for fishing in the rivers where salmon and trout can be caught.
On site at Park Mill Farm
The Park Mill Farm cottages are situated in a magical riverside setting, less than a mile from Chulmleigh centre, with 20 acres of lush fields, woods and parkland where you are free to roam along with the abundant wildlife. From the viewing area on top of the hill with bench, to the river and lakeside areas, there is plenty to explore and find a perfect picnic spot. There are benches throughout the site.
