Fernleigh is a beautiful five bedroomed house in an elevated position in Brixham, set away from the main road. This beautiful period property affords the ideal place to relax and unwind on your holiday, yet at the same time all of the convenience of its central location is retained.

The centre of Brixham is a mere two minute walk down the hill which leads down to the harbour front and the marina. The property boasts a rear terraced garden, a front grassy terrace, a side patio with garden furniture and a large private driveway leading to parking for up to 5 cars. Mature shrubs to side of the property add to the overall charm. Four steps lead up to the front pathway of the property.

Living

  • Large bay window with views that overlook the rooftops down to the harbour.
  • Generous sized lounge has neutral decor, with blue/slate coloured wooden floorboards.
  • Ample seating provided by two blue, two-seater sofas and one blue, four-seater sofa.
  • Gas coal effect fire with surrounding mantelpiece.
  • Entertainment is provided by a TV, DVD and freeview box.
  • There is also a separate games room with a TV/DVD player, football table and a large bookcase containing a variety of games, maps and books.
  • For younger guests there is a bag of Duplo bricks.
  • For the fitness enthusiast the room comes complete with its own exercise machine.
  • For extra guests there is a sofa bed.

Kitchen

Kitchen

  • As with the dining room the kitchen is separated from the dining area by the beautiful large log burning fire.
  • The décor comprises a mix of varying terracotta tiles with cream shaker style kitchen units, including a handy island unit, with beech effect work tops and wooden flooring.
  • Features include an electric oven with integral grill, a separate gas hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, dishwasher, four slot toaster, kettle and cafetiere.  
Dining
  • This room is fully carpeted with cream carpet and neutral décor and boasts a lovely original large sash bay window overlooking the side garden, making thisa lovely area to relax and enjoy meals. More seating is available in the dining room, provided by a blue four-seater sofa. Also there is a CD tower with integral radio and a selection of CDs for your enjoyment.
  • Double doors lead from the kitchen into a conservatory area with a handy metal table and four chairs allowing for additional seating.

Sleeping

Master bedroom with en-suite

  • This is a beautiful, elegant room has a superb king-sized four-poster bed to add a touch of sheer luxury.
  • The room is bright and airy and boasts a  double glazed sash replacement window that overlooks the rooftops across Brixham.
  • There is ample storage space provided by two large matching wardrobes and two matching chests of drawers with four drawers each.
  • Entertainment is provided by a remote controlled TV with DVD player.  
  • En-suite with shower cubicle, wash basin, w.c. and heated towel rail.

Bedroom Two

  • This room has two large windows with views over the side garden.
  • There is a traditional double bed with metal headboard, large double wardrobe, vanity unit with eight drawers and matching five-drawer chest.
  • Entertainment is provided by a remote controlled TV with DVD player.  

Bedroom Three

  • This room has a double glazed sash replacement window and as with bedroom two has views across the side garden.
  • The décor is neutral with cream curtains and two matching bedside lamps complementing the divan double bed.
  • There is a large wardrobe with shelves and six drawers a neutral coloured carpet, radiator and wall mounted mirror.  

Bedroom Four

  • Matching twin beds with matching bedside tables and lamps plus an additional sofa bed.
  • A large vanity unit spans one entire wall and a large sash replacement window overlooks the side garden.
  • Although this room has no wardrobe directly outside on the landing there is under eaves storage with hanging space, four drawers and two more cupboards.

Bedroom Five

  • Boasts a double glazed sash replacement window with rooftop views and harbour glimpses.
  • There are two single beds with metal bed-heads and two matching bedside tables and lamps.
  • There are three doors leading to under the eaves storage and one chest of drawers with five drawers and mirror.

Bathroom

Main bathroom

  • The main bathroom is situated next to the separate W.C. on the first floor.
  • The bathroom is fully tiled with lino flooring and a white suite, comprising a shower over the bath with shower mixer and glass shower screen.
  • There is also a washbasin with shaver socket, mirror and underneath vanity unit.  

Shower Room

  • This room has green coloured tiles with a nautical theme. It has a low flush W.C. with large shower cubicle, spotlighting, handy shelving unit with washbasin with mirror over and extractor fan.

En-suite to master bedroom

  • En-suite to bedroom one comprises a shower cubicle, wash basin, w.c., shaver point and heated towel rail.

Brixham 

Brixham is a quaint fishing town and with its cafés, bars, shops and restaurants, including the fish restaurants serving the daily local catches, it’s no wonder this is a favourite destination for people of all ages. While fishing is Brixham’s main industry, it is also reinventing itself as an upmarket tourist resort, with quality food shops such as the Brixham Deli, cafés such as Number 11, and bars such as the Yard Arms. The focal point of the harbour gives the town a continental feel, especially in the summer, when you can sit outside and enjoy fish which has been caught that very morning.

Booking notes

  • A deposit of 1/3 of the total price is required to secure a property. The balance is due six weeks before arrival.
  • For bookings arriving within 6 weeks, payment must be made in full by debit or credit card.
  • Only weekly (or multiples of) bookings are accepted in July and August. The changeover date is Saturday unless otherwise stated.
  • Short breaks (min. 3 nights) are accepted at other times of the year unless otherwise stated.
  • A non-refundable £19.50 booking fee is applicable to all bookings.
  • All properties are non-smoking.
  • Pets are accepted in certain properties where stated.
  • Bookings made by credit card will be charged a handling fee.
  • There is no booking charge for debit cards.
