Captain’s Quarters is a Brixham cottage of the highest standard, complete with a fascinating history combined with a warm welcome from the owners. The property was home the Captain Schjonnerman in the late 19th Century, who sailed the world trading raw materials before setting up a navigation school in Hill House, part of which is now Captain’s Quarters.

The current owners have refurbished the cottage to a very high standard, achieving a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the 2004/5 South West Tourism Awards. Upon arrival you will find fresh flowers in the property along with freshly baked scones or muffins, wine, as well as coffee tea, milk, bread and butter. The owners also ensure that details such as soap, shampoo, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, and washing up liquid is provided, ensuring you just need to arrive with your clothes for a great holiday. Returning guests are also presented with a complementary meal from the owners – choose from fish, vegetarian and meat dishes from an award winning cook.

The cottage sits on the side of the hill, overlooking Brixham’s harbour, fishing port and marina with far reaching views across Torbay and out to sea. The centre of Brixham and the harbour are just a 1 minute down the hill, where the attractions and harbour front restaurants offer tempting fish dishes.
