For really keen castle lovers on holiday St Mawes castle, over the estuary, is the best preserved of Henry VIII’s coastal fortresses.

For a relaxing family holiday there are great sandy beaches including the Blue Flag Gyllyngvase Beach, close to the centre of Falmouth, very popular during the holiday season.

If you are visiting Falmouth for a short break holiday there is plenty to fill up your time. Falmouth town centre has a great selection of shops plus many cafes and restaurants. The Falmouth Art Gallery is one of the best in Cornwall. Nearby Truro, a city of heritage and culture, can be reached via ferry from Falmouth, or you can stop off in St Mawes to see one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall.
Walking holidays in Falmouth
Falmouth is on the South West Coast Path so if you fancy a walking holiday then Falmouth is well placed. South is the Lizard while the walk north requires taking the ferry to St Mawes and the Roseland. The views will be just reward.
