Exmouth beaches

Boasting two miles of golden sand, interspersed with rock pools, Exmouth and South Devon has much to offer children of all ages. Exmouth has much to offer besides some of Devon’s finest sandy beaches. Being at the mouth of the Exe estuary, Exmouth enjoys plenty of marine activity, including boat trips along the Devon coastline. The estuary is home to Exmouth Nature Reserve and is an important site for migrating and wading birds.

Exmouth centre

In the centre of Exmouth you will find plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as traditional Devon seaside town. Shoppers in Exmouth enjoy an appealing mix of national retailers such as Boots and WH Smiths and independent locally made Devon produce. The hard work of Exmouth in Bloom can be seen at The Manor Gardens and Strand Gardens, two attractive green areas in Exmouth centre.

Exmouth tennis centre hosts the East Devon Tennis Tournament while other events include Exmouth Festival, Exmouth Illuminated Winter Carnival, Exmouth Rotary Kite Festival and a number on Exmouth Performance Stage.

Devon

Further afield, Exmouth is convenient for exploring the picturesque Devon countryside with Woodbury Common, Lympstone and Topsham villages nearby. Across the estuary lie Dawlish and Dawlish Warren, home to one of the top 5 beaches in the UK. Inland, Exmouth is a short drive or train ride from Devon’s county capital Exeter.
