BREEAM is a worldwide assessment scheme for buildings to establish their green credentials.  Self catering holiday homes can be graded under the Code for Sustainable Homes which was introduced in 2007. Properties are measured against  6 key areas; energy efficiency/CO2, water efficiency, surface water management, site waste management, household waste management and use of materials.

The measures provide a credible and reputable system of grading and ensuring holiday homes are environmentally friendly.  For a holiday maker, they do not compromise on quality and can offer a luxurious base for exploring an area and a peaceful surround for a relaxing break.
