Bodmin is at the heart of North Cornwall. A thriving market town, Bodmin has an attractive town centre and plenty on its doorstep, making it a perfect base for exploring Cornwall.

BodminThere are many great places to visit close by to Bodmin.  Lanhydrock, only 2 miles from Bodmin, is a wonderful Victorian house and gardens in the care of the National Trust. The south coast towns of Lostwithiel, Fowey, Looe and Polperro are all only a short drive from Bodmin and the great beaches of Newquay are close at hand. Also on Bodmin’s doorstep is the Eden Project, great no matter what the time of year or the weather.

In the town centre is a large nature reserve with great views to the moors and towards the coast, and there are a number of historical attractions in the heart of the town including Bodmin Jail and the Bodmin and Wenford Railway.

For the cyclist, Bodmin is on the Camel trail which means that both Bodmin Moor and Wadebridge and Padstow are in easy reach.  For adventurous sorts there is a 60 mile trail way all the around Bodmin moor.  Bodmin moor itself is an inspiring place with granite tors towering over the open moor land and valleys.

If you are a wine fan then Bodmin offers the excellent Camel Valley Vineyard, producing award-winning wines in Cornwall.  It is only two miles from Bodmin so is an inexpensive cab ride home!
