One of Devons many delights is Dartmoor. Dartmoor became a National Park in 1951 and offeres 368 square miles of with deep wooded gorges, beautiful lake-like reservoirs, craggy tors, and of course the famous Dartmoor ponies; it really is an exceptional sight to behold.

There are many activities on offer across the moors including walking, cycling, horse riding, letterboxing and fishing where you can effortlessly enjoy some of the most beautiful and dramatic countryside in the UK.

Last weekend we enjoyed another delightful Devon day out having decided to join the many intrepid walkers and took a walk around Burrator Reservoir; three and a bit miles of woodland, water and wildlife.

This is a lovely walk for families or the less active as the terrain is fairly level all the way round, and there are plenty of places to stop for a picnic.
