Blue Chip Vacations Jon Pressling reports here on the teams' recent fact Jon Presslingfinding mission to the charming North Cornwall town of Newquay.

From the tranquil waters of the English Channel to the raw power of the Atlantic Coast, on a bright December morning a team of hardy explorers set out on a fact finding mission to Newquay.

Famous for being the UK's premier surf resort, there is much more to this coastal resort than hanging ten and catching some waves. Newquay is changing and if the number of recently built luxury properties is anything to go by, the resort is certainly riding the crest of a very big wave.

You would be forgiven for thinking that visiting a town by the Fistral Beach, Newquaysea in the middle of winter is only for the brave and you would be right, to an extent. But where else can you explore mile upon mile of coastal paths, leading to remote coves and wide expanses of award winning beaches, virtually deserted at this time of year. A sense of remoteness certainly springs to mind but this is a good thing and adds to the appeal of Newquay. All that sea air will certainly build up your appetite and there is an abundance of restaurants on offer in the town itself, many offering wonderful panoramic views of the coast.

Whilst in the area there is a variety of attractions to visit including Newquay Zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium and a little further a field the world famous Eden Project in St Austell.

The great thing about Newquay is the access of the resort, with links by rail, road and air. From the south coast of Devon it is a pleasant two hour drive so ideal for those looking for a short break offering a whole different area of the West Country to explore. The town itself is all relatively compact and so easy to venture from one end to the other, the only hills you are likely to encounter are the ones down to the beaches themselves but they are certainly worth it.

Having visited Newquay many times in the past, mostly during the summer months, you can certainly tA beautiful Newquay golf courseell the difference between the seasons and not just in terms of weather. Even on a cold winters day you can pop down to the world famous Fistral Beach to view the experts playing out in the ocean. For those looking for a little more comfort though why not just watch from your own private balcony overlooking the beach.

Whether you are looking for an energetic escape on the rugged north Cornish coast or just looking for a little rest and relaxation in a luxury property then Newquay will suit all tastes, a resort for all seasons.

So if you fancy a trip to the charming, emergent town, take a look at Blue Chip Vacations vast array of holiday homes in Newquay.
